Woodinville ARES Group

We are a small, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation originally created to support Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), and other related emergency, disaster services, and auxiliary communications in and around the city of Woodinville, the state of Washington, the NW region of the US, and also the US during national emergencies. In addition, our charter covers additional charitable and educational areas.

Activities

  • JOTA - We hold Jamboree on the Air in Woodinville or Duvall every year where we teach a technician class, launch and track high altitude balloons, and talk to hams all over the world.
  • Teaching - We teach school groups, Boy Scouts, and adults ham radio classes with a goal of earning an FCC license. We have both Technician and General license classes.
  • Library - We have a lending library covering various emergency preparation topics.
  • Equipment Loans - We have equipment available for short term loans to beginners.
  • Emergency Drills - We coordinate emergency drills in the general Woodinville area.
